A Brazilian woman arrives in suburban New Jersey chasing the American dream as an au pair, only to find herself trapped in a life of domestic labor masked as cultural exchange.
Love this drama, I think it’s so poignant and introspective. Like a faded photo from a summer half-remembered. You HAVE to check this one out – AuPair - Drama, Thriller Screenplay | Kinolime
Wow, first script I read this year and this was most excellent. Such a sadness behind it… wish there was more. ![]()
Just read it, and I was amazed by the nuances and the incredible restraint in the story. It felt too real. Nothing melodramatic. The writer’s vision and profesionalism is very clear throughout the script and its treatment. This deserves to be made.
I agree, I was waiting for something to happen at first and then suddenly I’d finished it and wanted more. The scene where she’s filming a TikTok and then a child gets dumped on her was painful to read, surmises the entire experience.
I didn’t love this at first but by page eight or so I found myself super invested. I’d love to know what Tanyá is trying to achieve on her cultural exchange a little better. What is she hoping for?
Hope this one progresses, I haven’t read everything yet but the writer managed to describe a situation I’ve never been in, but still feel like I’ve experienced. This has stayed with me for days.
What an awesome script
