In a retro 1980s kingdom, a slacker must slay a mall-dwelling dragon, rescue a princess, and survive underground jousting. With a rusty sword, a junker car, and his eccentric friend, he discovers heroism takes courage, heart—and luck.

The treatment is perfectly put together to give a rundown of the script.
I’m loving the fictional setting of Medieval times and the '80’s in a satirical yet comedic adventure.
The full circle from opening scene to closing scene connecting the character development in a subtle way was well put together, I got Bill and Ted vibes -The Knight - Ready Player One '80s pop culture

Yes, Bill and Ted is a great comp.

It’s fun when, as a screenwriter, you’re enjoying a script so much that you wish you could input on the project. I love the jousting car, but felt it was too convenient that the dragon flies out of the mall and into the parking lot to set up the final sequence that leads to its demise. That thought led me to this amazing sequence in my head where our two young lads devise a plan for INSIDE the mall…then drive straight through the front door. In my head, the car races through the food court, down the open areas, flashing in front of all the stores. (Come on, no Spencers reference? :)) They’re drawing the dragon to the perfect spot…where they–in spectacular fashion–drive off the second floor, smashing through the railing, sailing through the air…right into the dragon’s heart.

That’s the kind of fun this script inspires.

I also liked the 80’s/Medieval mash-up, just wish there were MORE campy 80’s references.

I’m not crazy about the ending. There needs to be more explanation. Was the reward turned down and he works at the video store? Did he take the reward and buy the video store? And in this society how could what he accomplished not be completely known to everyone? The TEEN character at the end who doesn’t believe his story/know who he is doesn’t ring true.
