The screenplay’s main problem is that it feels overloaded with repetitive horror episodes. The entity appears in many different forms, and as a result, the middle section sometimes stops building tension and instead repeats the same effect over and over. The anagram of the name could turn the middle of the screenplay from a series of frightening episodes into a tense investigation. In that case, each recurring image — the song, the poster, the cherries, the book, the doll, the missing page — would no longer function only as an atmospheric motif, but as part of a puzzle that leads Nina toward victory.

Thanks for reading my script! I appreciate the feedback. Maybe we can look at this during development

I saw some people discussing this script on reddit. They mentioned how you don’t have to be a parent to connect with the story. I agree with that. I think this film will hit for both parents and non-parents.

Really enjoyed the script! Like a cross between Hereditary and IT. Good luck!

I’ve just read the whole screenplay, and damn! It was so good, couldn’t stop reading it until the very end, and the horror in some scenes will stick with me for days on end. Nina is such a relatable and complex character. And I loved the visual storytelling, such as the scene transitions and the scary stuff in the background of certain scenes. I hope it gets made and receives as much hype as Obsession and Backrooms, it really deserves it. Great job!

Hey Lucca, always great to hear your opinions on the submissions! Glad you enjoyed Due as much as I did. Have you had opportunity to check out the table read?

Yes! That scene was such a good choice for the table read; it was so tense, anxiety-inducing, and a huge turning point in the whole script. I didn’t feel that too much in the table read, the actresses were great but they weren’t giving their all in my opinion. Still, I really look forward to watch that scene in the big screen.
