Help Us Improve our Website!

Happy Friday, Kinolimers!

As we’re fast approaching the end of this year’s Script to Screen competition :red_exclamation_mark: (DON’T FORGET TO VOTE!) :red_exclamation_mark: , we’re already turning an eye to improving for next year. We’d love your feedback on the polls below to give us a sense of what we can focus on going forward – ensuring we can provide you with services you’ll actually use. :+1:

Q1. When you visit a screenwriting and entertainment website, what do you want to find there? (Pick as many answers as are relevant)

  • A hub for entertainment & industry news
  • Craft articles & writing resources
  • Podcast & video content
  • Educational resources (workshops, guides, courses)

  • Networking or community features
  • Other (specify in comments, labelled Q1)

Q2. What kind of content keeps you coming back to websites like Kinolime? (pick one)

  • Deep-dive interviews with working writers & producers
  • Practical craft breakdowns (structure, dialogue, pitching)
  • Industry news & market trends
  • Success stories from writers like me
  • Networking opportunities
  • I don’t really come back to sites like this
  • Other (specify in the comments, labelled Q2)

Q3. What’s missing from the sites you already use? (Answer in comments, labelled Q3)

Q4. Anything you’d love to see for next year or going forward? (Answer in comments, labelled Q4)

As always, we appreciate your time and thoughtful feedback. We can’t wait to improve our products year by year. :date:

Q4 maybe it’s not so easy but if there was a way for the forum and the website to be one and the same it would be easier to navigate. Sometimes you must log in twice.

Q1(Other) - Open Writing Assignments

Q3/Q4 - Peer Feedback Portal/Script Swap

The competitions are great for discovering screenwriting, but I’d like to see in the future development programmes, as Sundance and TIFF do. Where new or unsigned screenwriters are mentored, the script written during the programme is optioned, and the writers who complete the programme are given a development and first look deal.

I.E. “This writer has successfully completed our mentoring programmme, we have optioned the script written and we have signed them to a three-year exclusivity and development deal for any future deals. They’re currently meeting with our producers about future works and will announce their next work”. Or something.

For Q4 a minor gripe, I would love a homepage with all the titles and loglines and a way to see if I’ve voted for them or not yet. The page keeps moving every time you revisit it so it’s difficult to track progress.

Thanks for the feedback guys. This will all be relayed to the web development side. Any further comments are welcome and will be taken into consideration!
