Jean: The True Tale of a Formerly Fat Housewife (Film Dramedy): The dichotomous life of Weight Watchers Founder Jean Nidetch is explored through the lens of her famous, gusto-filled lectures and the real life struggles behind them.
What a story!!
At first I didn’t know what would come from a Biopic like Dramedy; Then as the story began to unfold, I couldn’t help but to be very engaged. Jeans story was so inspiring, profound, and inspiring. The story is very well written and educational with a lot of entertaining factors
I’ve only read the treatment so far but it seems like Jean is morally dubious, which sounds interesting. Does the script make it seem like she’s justified in drifting away from her family?
Hey Alice! My interpretation was that Alice couldn’t live the life she thought she wanted while maintaining her old life at the same time, so it was more of an incompatibility rather than a right or wrong. I definitely empathise with her husband. The family aren’t portrayed as people holding her back, they simply don’t have her vision.
Thanks!
