LA Area Filmmakers

To anyone in the greater LA area interested in making films, I’d like to start some sort of community with the intention of actually getting films made.

I’m sure many of you here are in Los Angeles for one reason or another. Personally, I live and work in the Inland Empire. However, I have a stack of features and shorts that collect dust, with plenty more on the way, and no connections to make something out of my ideas. I have a lot of respect for what Kinolime has done and is doing, but at the end of the day, with the sheer volume of submissions, tons of amazing scripts won’t even make it past the eyes of the writer and initial judges. For those who won’t win, I guarantee there is plenty of opportunity for those willing to make it themselves. If nothing else, why not use Kinolime as a platform to find each other and make our shorts/features happen?

If making a chat, planning a community, and ultimately meeting to make our ideas happen is interesting to you, comment and lmk.

And if there are other big cities with a lot of members, make your own chats too. It’s better than letting the ideas die, isn’t it?

I saw a couple people have liked this, so I’m gonna put it out there again with something more concrete. I have a handful of short scripts I’m hoping to create, but primarily, there’s one I want to get off the ground titled Ego Death. Logline: A knight, a frat dude, an author, a doctor, and an asshole, all unwritten characters of a failed writer, debate whether or not the writer should die on his deathbed.

It would be a single-location shoot. I’ll attach the script if anyone is interested in reading it (I appreciate any feedback) or being involved. I live in the Inland Empire, so this goes out to pretty much anyone in the greater LA area.

I’ve been screenwriting for almost four years, and if it helps at all for my credibility, I might not have been chosen for the feature contest this time around, but I received a message that one of my scripts, The Moon’s Eulogy, was within the top 100 out of the 2900 submitted. I’ll take what I can get.

Hmu if you’re interested, want to meet up, or have any thoughts on the script.
