In 1999, three young friends switch VHS movies at a video store. One of their lives is irrevocably changed forever.
Love to hear any thoughts on Space Babes, it’s not the most complex finalist this year, but it’s earnest, it’s funny, and it manages to provide various twists and subversions in such a short page count. A masterclass in page economy!
This was hilarious! The characters were memorable - especially the pretentious video store clerk- , the dialogue was top-notch, and the plot was quite nostalgic. It reminded me of The Goonies and early Wes Anderson.
100% agree about the clerk – you know that actor Matty Cardarople? He’d be perfect!
I never heard that before name, but after I googled it, I realized he was the clerk in Stranger Things! He was great in it, he’ll surely be just as good in this one.
The women from the porno winning Oscars cracked me up. Go get 'em girls!
