“चैट –मैट ” एक पूर्णतः काल्पनिक विज्ञान–फंतासी कथा है, जिसमें मानव सभ्यता और एक रहस्यमय सूक्ष्म प्रजाति के टकराव को दिखाया गया है। चैट-मैट अत्यंत छोटे कद के, किंतु असाधारण बुद्धि और शक्ति से युक्त जीव हैं। उनका शरीर गिरगिट की भाँति वातावरण के रंगों में घुल-मिल जाने की क्षमता रखता है। एक विषम परिस्थिति में इन जीवों का संपर्क पंचकौर नामक व्यक्ति से होता है, जिनकी सहायता से वह एक महान जादूगर के रूप में प्रतिष्ठित हो जाता है।
पंचकौर की मृत्यु के बाद उसके वंशज चैट-मैट की देखरेख करते हैं। आगे चलकर पंचकौर का नाती चिकित्सा शिक्षा के लिए रूस जाता है और चैट-मैट का डीएनए नमूना अपने साथ ले जाता है। वहाँ भारतीय डॉक्टर चमन पंचकौर और एक रूसी महिला डॉक्टर के बीच प्रेम संबंध स्थापित होता है। वैज्ञानिक प्रयोगों के दौरान चैट-मैट के डीएनए को मानव डीएनए के साथ मिलाया जाता है, जिससे एक नई नस्ल का जन्म होता है।
यह नई नस्ल एक ओर असाधारण चमत्कारों की जनक बनती है, तो दूसरी ओर पूरी दुनिया के लिए एक गंभीर संकट भी उत्पन्न करती है। यही प्रयोग आगे चलकर वैश्विक महामारी कोविड-2019 के रूप में सामने आता है। यह कथा विज्ञान, प्रेम, महत्वाकांक्षा और मानवीय भूलों के खतरनाक परिणामों की गहन पड़ताल करती है।

Story Summary (English)
“Chait Mait” is a completely fictional science-fantasy narrative that explores the collision between human civilization and a mysterious micro-species. The Chait Mait are small-statured beings possessing intelligence and physical abilities far superior to humans. Their bodies can blend into surrounding colors like a chameleon. In extraordinary circumstances, they encounter a man named Panchkour, who, with their aid, becomes a legendary magician.
After Panchkour’s death, his descendants protect the Chait Mait. Later, his grandson travels to Russia to study medicine, secretly carrying a DNA sample of the species. There, Indian doctor Chaman Panchkour falls in love with a Russian doctor. Scientific experiments lead to the fusion of Chait Mait DNA with human DNA, resulting in the birth of a new hybrid race.
While this new species brings miraculous abilities, it also creates a global catastrophe. The consequences of this experiment eventually manifest as the worldwide pandemic COVID-2019. The story examines science, love, ambition, and the devastating outcomes of human overreach.
