Are we meant to get rid of the title page in our scripts to remain anonymous?

Hi there! The system automatically omits the first page of your screenplay on upload, so leave your title page intact as part of the submission. This will then be removed and the first thing the public will see will be page 1 rather than your title page, maintaining anonymity.

Hi, I saw that you liked my message so I figured that was a yes. I removed the title pages, but now I can’t go back and edit the screenplay to submit the correct version with the title pages. Can I fix this?

Greetings, I can see your uploads and have just spoken to my colleague Yoni on the support team. He has asked if you could contact support@info.kinolime.com and he can help resolve the situation and ensure you have the correct file uploaded.

That’s a massive help, thank you so much and sorry for the confusion.

Looking forward to reading Three Ice Cubes, what a terrific logline! Hope this resolves things.

Do we need to submit all three at once, or does the system allow for uploading one at a time over several days?

Hi Paul, to the best of my knowledge, you can upload separately over several days. So long as it is within the submission timeframe! It will require three independent uploads.

Is this competition open to United States residents only? The selection menu for Location only seems to have American cities listed. I live in Canada.

Hi there Jeff, welcome to the forum. This is a temporary bug where non-US locations are not currently working. I am informed that there are steps in place to resolve this. In the meantime, if you set your location to anywhere, say New York for instance, you can then change to international once the bug is resolved. As of tomorrow morning, I’m advised there will be an ā€˜International’ location available. If you could kindly specify in your director’s statement where you intend to shoot, this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the pertinent question and for your patience while we resolve the matter. Can’t wait to read your submission.

Thank you. New isssue. My screenplay is exactly 20 pages long. With title page it is 21. It won’t allow me to upload anything longer than 20 pages. However I read that the first page will be automatically deleted, so if I remove my cover page, won’t the first actual page of my script be deleted?

Jeff, thanks for reporting this. I’m double checking with the support team on how this can be rectified or circumnavigated. Please bear with me while I find a resolution, I will come back here to report with an answer.

I am so glad you asked this. My script is also 20 pages, not including the title page. With the title page, it is 21. If my page one is omitted, the beginning of my script is not going to make sense. Hopefully, this gets rectified. Otherwise, I will have to rewrite my script to be 19 pages. Thanks!

Hello, what are you looking for in the director’s statement? I still can’t figure what should I put in it.

You can begin by talking about how you came up with the concept of your story, and then lead into why you feel it should be made into a film.

@jaime_thegoodguy @jeffkantoku Folks, I’ve spoken to the support team and believe we will be amending the page count limit to 21 pages to accommodate the title page. Thanks for your patience on this and apologies that you’ve become beta testers. I will keep abreast of the progress and notify you here once this is resolved.

Hi Lucca, @jaime_thegoodguy mentioned some good inclusions below – others include why the story is important and personal to you, why it should be made into a film, what makes it unique, why it’s pertinent right now, what your aspirations are. You can include whatever you like but you should try to sell voters on why they should check out your submission.

Thanks! I’m still trying to figure out what to put, but now it’s much more clear to me. I’m submitting two shorts as soon as I do.

@jaime_thegoodguy @jeffkantoku Folks, I’m reliably informed that the adjustment to 21 page limit will be rolled out tomorrow. If you could kindly hold on to submitting until then, that should prevent any unnecessary rewrites being required. Thanks again for your patience!

As for anyone without a US based shooting location – @jeffkantoku @lucca_bosio – there’s now an ā€˜International’ location available at the top of the shooting location menu.
